Good morning!
How have everyone been? It's been a quick month of May for me, and I hope not for the rest of us. But if May zoomed past you as well, I hope this update blog will slow that car down so we can enjoy just a bit more of the May sun.
Confidence is through the roof right now. I am completely ecstatic on the dieting progress I have made. I recently weighed myself at 45.5 kg (INSANE ACTUALLY). Fat is definitely lessening each week, but a short patience makes the mirror lie. It might look like I'm not progressing at all but trust the process and keep on it!!
From the last blog about diets, I have made some adjustments, and maybe you can apply what I am going to share. I am getting progress every week, and here's to hoping you can pick up a few things for your diet plans to help you get that body you want.
In diet changes--- Of course I have cut almost all refined carbohydrates and sugars. Basically, anything breads and sugary drinks. I'll still take a bread or two, but only when it is plain and from the local bakery. I have no desire to eat any bread from a big brand in a grocery store. I do not trust bread that stays soft for a week and would rather have bread from the local bakery instead, where baking actually takes place.
Sugars I am happy to just cut. I personally do not crave sweets, and I do not have a hard time pulling myself away from these. And remember to not cheat out the sugar. You might think you are safe when you just drink Diet variations of your soft drinks, all you are doing is making it hard for you to actually quit, like vaping in place of smoking. Call me psycho but my childhood eating habits made me not crave any sweet breads, treats, or drinks.
I also bought a scale!! And I'm tracking my calorie deficit with an app. My quantitative brain thoroughly enjoys having a measure on my diet. It keeps everything consistent. My caloric budget right now is right around 900-1100. It might shock a lot of people but remember that I am a mere 5 ft 1in, so I am not exactly at the extreme deficit, and I am most certainly not starving myself :)) thanks for worrying though.
Also, I'm boosting my protein intake a lot. In all three meals I am for 20g of protein, and for the afternoon snack I'll take protein powder. This makes my daily protein intake at 80-100g each day. The benefits of which is surely significant, but I won't talk about it here. Together with this, I have been working out my upper body on the morning. I currently train my arms, core, some upper body and none of the back--- I hope to train back soon but I'm still holding back on buying that pull up bar.
This is all to make sure that my muscles on my upper body don't fizzle out when I am on the deficit and whilst cycling. I have seen very lean cyclists being literal toothpicks, and I still see that horror even with eyes closed. My personal opinion but I think my arms and shoulders might actually be bigger than before.
No lifestyle changes right now. I'm still cycling. reading my books, and strength training. Though I have lost desire to play video games (UNFORTUNATELY) I have rescinded my subscription to GeForce NOW, a cloud gaming service. Last February I thought this gaming service will be a staple on my life moving forward, but the lack of time and interest in games proves that this monthly subscription has to go. I still have games to dream about, but until those games release, I won't be gaming much. This saves me a lot of money since I don't have a gaming pc to spend money on.
After 1984, I read Lolita. In 10 days, I have finished the book, and I am currently dazed. This is my own corner of the Internet, but I cannot bring myself to discuss the details or share quotes about that book. To the well informed, let us suffer together; for the rest--- ignorance is bliss. This is such a moving book that discussions of it will only fall on really personal levels.
(IN ALL CAPS, I WILL JUST SAY THAT I DO NOT SIDE WITH HUMBERT--- In case you thought that I am with and in great companionship with Humbert's maniacal adventure)
Currently, I have no books and I am completely open to a new read. Don Quixote might be fun; Black Beauty might also be good. ORR should I just buy that destroyed To Kill a Mockingbird book, with pages so frayed and spine creased and bent beyond repair (I'm actually hoping to just get that book for free considering its condition, but capitalism might disallow such generosity)
Gathering dust right now... I would really want to add a photo album, but I don't have the confidence to share pictures yet. Especially when I am currently perplexed as to what I should actually look like, what fashion should I embrace. I fear that if I share my likes in fashion and aesthetic, you the reader might be put off, worst yet if you were some close relatives, you would realize my ultimate goal with all this dieting and exploration of a new fashion sense.
Anyway, I do realize that a photo album can be any photo (LOL!), not just me. Some landscapes, my bike? me fixing my bike? stuff like that. No harm done. Absolutely nada. I'll work on it. I promise!!
Some sections might also show up for specific hobbies of mine and how to start. I am slowly building my book library to share my hobby of books, and in due time I'll share my experience and benefits of reading. Similarly, I'm slowly getting my kilometers with my dear bike, and in time I'll share to you the glory of getting to places only with the will and power of your own body.
